Finally another post!
by richard
Well I know it has been a while. But time is not something that I have alot of any more. With working a 40 hours a week job, and anything I can do between. So here I am again..
Just over 1 year working at my present employeer, about 3 months in my new position as an IT Engineer. Times are getting better and better.
Today I went to get to the Orthopedic Doctor to see what the next step will be. He ask me to schedule an appointment with his partner to get a second opinion about some possible nerve damage. So I get to go see the new Doctor on the 5th of August and back to my Doctor on 25th of August. At that time he will have a plan of action. All I know that this knee needs to be fixed or replaced. So I am very excited to see what he has in store.
Well, thats it for now.. I will try to post more often as time permits.
God Bless!

Fun Times At Wally World - Part 2
by richard
Like I promised, I found the other video of the apprehension that me and another AP took down after stealing 200 bucks in light bulbs for his car.
He got away from us but ran into a fine Raleigh Police Officer writting parking tickets. Who was kind enough to use force to stop the guy.
Needless to say, this dude went to jail for a long time.
Hope you enjoyed these installment of Fun At Wally World.

What has happened to the USPS "United States Postal Service"
by richard
Today I went to the local Post Office to return a unused roll of 28 cent stamps that I did not need. And I was told that they do not refund Stamps any longer. What is the Post Office coming to? It use to be that if you did not need stamps that they would return them without issues. But now they want us to trust them when we purchase stamps which are basically money but will not return them for a refund. This is just not who I would want to put my trust in. What is the United States of America coming to??
Medical Care for the Unemployed
by richard
Medical Care is an important part of life. But when someone is in the unemployment line and has no insurance and no way of paying full price for Medical Treatment. Thus, the reason for this story today.
I was a volunteer for a local organization here in Raleigh for many years. Back in 2005 I was hurt while volunteering with this group and it will affect me the rest of my life. This group basically told me I was responsible to cover the costs of treatment. Even though I have been a loyal volunteer who has gave hundreds of hours of service in those years. Well, after a lot of talking with this organization, they finally agreed to give me $10,000 for my injury to help with the medical bill. And that would be all that I could get from them regardless of the cost of the treatments.
I was seen at Wake Orthopedics and after a MRI and X-Rays was told that I need to have surgery to repair the damages. He told me that I have ripped the Meniscus and fractured the knee cap during the fall. And he was optimistic that the surgery would restore the full function and eliminate the severe and constant pain I was experiencing. I agreed to the surgery as I had insurance with through my wife. I used the Medical Pay from this group to meet deductibles with the insurance plan.
After the surgery I had multiple appointments with the surgeon and sadly to say there was no improvement for me. After waiting approximately 6 months to recover from the first surgery, I decided to undergo another surgery and try again. As the pain and movement was not where I could function.
After the second surgery I expected a better outcome than the first. But it was the same. I was told that I should go to a cartilage specialist. I contacted Duke Hospitals, Director of Orthopedics, and scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks later.
I met with Duke Orthopedics who took X-Rays and a MRI of my knee. They reviewed them and said both were inconclusive but being the symptoms I was showing and they were seeing they decided to surgery. This is number 3 in 2 years. After this surgery and many hours of Physical Therapy the knee was somewhat better. But now 5 years out and the knee is acting up. But now I am unemployed and have no means of getting assistance. I contacted the Wake County Human Services and found out that there only clinics that I can go to, IF, I qualify. But these clinics are not Doctors who have orthopedic backgrounds. So I am not sure what they can do besides provide some pain relievers so I can get by.
So the truth of the matter is, the State of North Carolina, the county of Wake, and the United States of America does not care about you and me. Because until I get this knee to a point where I can be somewhat pain free I cannot perform my daily tasks easily.
If anyone knows of any where I can get orthopedic treatment for myself, I would appreciate any input. This is very debilitating and is going to make my health deteriorate even faster than it is.
